Araliyaa Logo

The entire brand identity was built around the Frangipani flower (Araliya), symbolizing beauty, hospitality, and Sri Lankan culture. The design captures the essence of the flower while representing the lodge's commitment to authentic experiences.

Design Concept

The logo design was inspired by the Frangipani flower (Araliya), which holds cultural significance in Sri Lanka. Each element was carefully crafted:

  • Eight Petals: Representing the eight-fold path in Buddhism, reflecting Sri Lanka's cultural heritage
  • Golden Gradient: Symbolizing warmth, hospitality, and luxury
  • Green Center: Representing nature, growth, and the lush surroundings of Kandy
  • Circular Form: Signifying completeness, harmony, and the cycle of hospitality

The color scheme was extracted directly from the Frangipani flower and surrounding nature:

Design Process

1. Brand Research

Studied Frangipani flower symbolism in Sri Lankan culture, analyzed lodge's location and target audience, and researched traditional Kandyan design elements.

2. Logo Design

Created multiple logo concepts based on the Frangipani flower, refined the selected design, and established complete brand guidelines with color palette and typography.

3. Theme Design

Developed the complete visual theme extending from the logo, including custom icons, floral patterns, and nature-inspired design elements that reflect Kandy's landscape.

4. Web Development

Built a fully custom website without WordPress, implementing the brand theme through custom CSS, responsive design, and interactive elements that enhance user experience.

5. Image Editing

Personally edited and enhanced all photographs to match the brand color palette, ensuring visual consistency and highlight-araliyaing the lodge's natural beauty.

6. Launch & Branding

Implemented the complete brand identity across all touchpoints, ensuring consistency from digital presence to potential print materials and guest communications.
